School students in New South Wales generally work towards the Higher School Certificate or HSC in Years 11 and 12. It is the highest level of attainment you can reach at school. The HSC is a huge operation each year, and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) oversees it.
Every year, NESA evaluates the HSC thoroughly to ensure it remains successful, inclusive and flexible. They consider changes and improvements, and consult on any changes that affect the wider education community.
Please view our subject selection page for more advice from NESA about selecting subjects and how the ATAR is calculated.
2021 HSC Written Exam Timetable
The full 2021 HSC written exam, languages oral exam and practical and performance exam timetables are available on the NESA website. Students can access their personalised HSC written exam timetable on Students Online.
