Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.

Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.

SRE seminars

Wyndham College holds special religious education (SRE) seminars during designated assemblies in the school hall each term.  Approved providers delivering SRE at Wyndham College include the Anglican Diocese of Sydney delivered by Life Anglican Church Quakers HillInformation on the curriculum followed can be found through the Anglican Diocese of Sydney website.

Currently there is no provision for Special Ethics Education (SEE) in secondary schools. During the time that SRE/SEE classes are being held, students not attending will be located in a separate space and will participate in meaningful activities including reading, private study or completing homework in the Library or Learning Hub.

Students must have written parental permission to participate in SRE. Students who enrolled prior to 2019 have indicated their parent's preference on their enrolment forms. Students enrolling in 2019 and beyond have a SRE/SEE Participation Form to return as part of their enrolment package.

Voluntary student activities

The Christian group meets once a week at Wyndham College and all students are welcome to attend with parent permission. Please read the school newletter to find out the time and location that the group meets.
