Congratulations to Kirra Mora who was a recipient of the Jim Anderson Award for 2020.
Kirra will be studying a Bachelor of Nursing this year at WSU and has been awarded a $5 000 scholarship as part of the award.
The Jim Anderson Memorial Scholarships encourage local students from Blacktown City schools to undertake university studies and contribute to the development of the local economy.
Provided in honour of the late Jim Anderson, the former Member for Londonderry in NSW State Parliament and the former Mayor of Blacktown City Council. Mr Anderson was a tireless advocate for public education and Western Sydney, and his memory is honoured each year through the provision of five scholarships up to the value of $5000 which are granted to students in government high schools in Western Sydney who will be undertaking formal full-time study at either Western Sydney University or at a TAFE NSW college or campus.
