School Chaplaincy Program

The National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP) is a Commonwealth-funded initiative to support the emotional wellbeing of students and the broader school community through the provision of pastoral care services.

The Program aims to support students through the provision of pastoral care services and the promotion of strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of students and the broader school community. Participation in the Program is voluntary for both schools and students.

School chaplains support the wellbeing of students by providing:

  • pastoral care services, and
  • strategies developed in consultation with the relevant school staff and school principal that support the wellbeing of the broader school community, for example: coordinating volunteering activities and support, breakfast clubs, lunch time activities, excursions, school incursions, and parent/carer workshops.

Well-being team

Student success at school is dependent on being in a safe supportive environment that is conducive to learning. All staff care and are aware of the many issues facing young people today. We cater for those specific needs in a variety of ways. The well-being team provides many avenues of support. Use the links provided as well as checking in with the well-being team.

The well-being team consists of Head Teacher Welfare, Year Advisers, Deputies, Principal and Counsellor who meet each week to ensure that all students are provided with the support that is needed for them to reach their potential. Read the well-being policy (PDF 391KB) for more information.
