Scholarships

Nirimba Access Scholarship Program         ($20 000)

The Nirimba Access scholarship provides motivated students who attend Wyndham College with a unique opportunity to undertake university study at the same time as they undertake year 11 at school.

This opportunity is a result of the partnership between: the schools; Western Sydney University; and Western Sydney University The College.

An agreement between these partners allows up to 20 students each year from the Nirimba schools to gain sponsored enrolment at WSU/WSU The College.

Students who successfully complete a unit are able to gain an early offer of enrolment into most WSU courses on the completion of their HSC.

Students may also become eligible for the award of a substantial scholarship as a result of successful completion of these units. The 20 available places are allocated to the schools on the basis of their total year 11 and 12 enrolments.

Recommendations are made by the Principals and staff of the schools, but WSU/WSU The College ultimately determines which students are able to enrol. They base these decisions on school recommendations and student applications.

Students who complete the course will be offered $20 000 scholarship if they receive a distinction or high distinction and an early offer to attend WSU. If the student receives a credit or pass, they will receive an early offer.

As part of the scholarship students receive a $500 one-off payment in their HSC year.

2021 Students

FACS scholarships

Family and Community Services offers scholarships to students enrolled in education. The scholarship helps young people complete their studies and reach their full potential. Successful applicants will receive $1,000. You are eligible to apply if you are living in social housing, a social housing applicant, receiving FACS private rental assistance, living in crisis/supported accommodation, or living in out-of-home care

Premier’s ANZAC Memorial scholarships

The Premier’s ANZAC Memorial Scholarships are an opportunity to visit significant overseas sites associated with Australia’s participation in war for Years 10 and 11 students in selected schools.

Jim Anderson Scholarship

The Jim Anderson Memorial Scholarships encourage local students from Blacktown City schools to undertake university studies and contribute to the development of the local economy. Provided in honour of the late Jim Anderson, the former Member for Londonderry in NSW State Parliament and the former Mayor of Blacktown City Council. Mr Anderson was a tireless advocate for public education and Western Sydney, and his memory is honoured each year through the provision of five scholarships up to the value of $5000 which are granted to students in government high schools in Western Sydney who will be undertaking formal full-time study at either Western Sydney University or at a TAFE NSW college or campus.

We encourage Wydham College students to gain a position in a full-time course for the following year at either the University of Western Sydney or at a TAFE NSW college or campus; and provide proof of enrolment. One of the scholarships is designated for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student. The scholarship is valued at $5,000.

Public Education Foundation scholarships

Offers hundreds of scholarships and awards to students and educators in public school systems across Australia. Scholarships help students overcome barriers to achievement created by social and economic disadvantage.  We also acknowledge and reward academic excellence in our public schools.

Youth off the Streets scholarships

Youth Off the Streets is a non-denominational community organisation working for disadvantaged young people who may be homeless, drug dependent and/or recovering from abuse including immense personal trauma such as neglect, physical, psychological and, or emotional abuse.

Educational Access Scheme (UAC)

• the period in which you gained the qualifications you are using to seek admission to an undergraduate course.
